Actually, there were MSX(1/2/2+) made by Sony. So, well, give or take, but Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid have always been on Sony's hardware in a way.
What about the BB Corps? Every time you fight one, they give their best to creep you out while making sexy poses, plus, they are wet (no, literally). Now that's a mixture.
First, games "made" us stupid, then "made" us take drugs, then "made" us kill people, now they "make" us sexualize girls. What's the next thing gamers get blamed for? I am sick and tired of it. I know the media needs a scapegoat for everything bad, but why is everything related to games? Whats next? Terrorism, fundamentalism, cancer, AIDS?
I wanted to, but I didn't find the time... Now, I don't think I missed anything in MGS4. I could say which person I remember from MG/MG2, but I think that would be a spoiler. Anyway, if you haven't played MG/MG2, you missed the games, but you won't feel left out in MGS4.
Can we please use another abbreviation for MSFT Game Studios? There is only one "MGS" in the world and I hate to confuse these two. Or is it only a way to get some cheap hits?
I don't have speculations about the sales figures, but I can tell that Kojima deserves every last game being bought. If you have played MGS4, you have seen art. One might argue that the cut scenes are too long, but when you have played it and saw the parts that you play... it makes up for it a hundred times. Besides, with all the emotions going on, it would be hard to play at some times. Funny thing, I needed five days for GTA4, played it in sessions of five hours a day and had to force mysel...
Finished it in two sittings (12 and 3 1/2 hours each, yeah, had to sleep). The game is wort every cent - I cried four times. The game only gets better and more epic the more you progress.
I just finished the game, took me around 16 hours. I cried four times, it is that good. Whether you need to walk, drive, run, fly or swim the 30 miles, do it NOW.
Sorry, maybe the screens don't do the moving game any justice, but this almost looks worse than Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast back then. The audience is wack graphically wise, the models are jaggy, the animations lack and it overall looks sterile.
"unrealistic cartoon graphics"? This as close as games got yet to the actual look of the anime, hence the "cartoon graphics". This game isn't supposed to have photo realistic graphics.
Whoever played Metal Gear Solid, ShenMue and several other games and says that games can not be art, is either biased as all hell, so prejudiced against gaming it sticks out of his ass or simply stupid.

Well I tend to agree with what Yahtzee said in one of his videos, most people only have the money to afford one console and then defend their console by all means to justify that they chose this one. All the games that won't come out for their console are crap just for the hell of it, every superior port becomes like winning a fight in a war and sales are means to show just how good your console is.
